Who am i?

I’m Aleyna — a filmmaker and designer who brings stories to life through visuals and motion. Welcome to my portfolio!

I was born in 1999 in Ankara. I've always carried a deep passion for creating—writing, drawing, performing… That spark never left me. My love for film began when I watched Harry Potter at the age of eight. From that moment on, I knew I wanted to act in films like that—and one day, create them.

I started taking on-camera acting classes at 14, and wrote my first screenplay at 16. I’ve also been dancing since 2010 and began teaching in 2017. Salsa and Bachata are my primary styles, but I explore various dance forms. For me, dance is more than movement; it’s a profound expression of the human essence—an art of revealing the unseen through rhythm, aesthetics, and the language of the body. I believe everything can become a story through an aesthetic pattern guided by melody. That’s why I’ve always loved building worlds, writing, and telling stories in different ways.

The films I watched—and the imaginative worlds of animated shows and movies—transported me to entirely different universes and fueled my desire to create my own. The magic of visual effects fascinated me as well; I wanted to understand how scenes that transcend reality are made. These passions led me to study Animation at Başkent University. In 2020, I created my first short film, Mask and Dance, which was selected for screening at the “Sanarchy Art Group at UNCG Greensboro Project Space” gallery in the United States—marking my first international certification as a filmmaker.

University also deepened my connection with computers and technology. Before graduating, I entered the gaming industry, designing both 2D and 3D games. Alongside this, I immersed myself in learning VFX and CGI techniques used in film.

Over time, I expanded my skills across editing, effects, motion graphics, game design, and logo design. I then began my master’s degree in Visual Communication Design at Anadolu University, writing my thesis on Hollywood Cinema and CGI. In 2023, I created my short film On the Way (Yol Arasında).

In 2024, I left the gaming industry and began working as a freelancer. That same August, I started writing as a film critic for Ekranom, where I still contribute.
In addition, I deepened my decade-long passion for yoga and became a certified yoga instructor in 2024. I also completed my training to become a professional life coach.

Today, I work as a freelancer in VFX, CGI, 3D modeling, animation, motion graphics, social media content videos, design projects, mobile, desktop game projects, film screenwriting, and film directing.

Making the unseen visible—whether through dance, film, design, or storytelling—is at the heart of what I do. No matter the medium—stage, camera, or digital canvas—I aim to convey the same feeling and rhythm in everything I create. Because to me, art in any form is a way of projecting a person’s inner rhythm into the world.

If you'd like to meet or work with me, you can find my portfolio and contact information on my website. I’ve never given up on my dreams—and there are still many projects ahead of me.
